Oppenheimer was born on March 28, 1986, to Reed and Gabrielle in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the United States. She has two brothers, Eric and Luke, and one sister, Sophie, for a total of three siblings. At Yale University, her father specialized in anthropology and history. He has held a variety of charitable positions throughout the years, including founding chairman of the Grameen Foundation USA, board member of Trees of Life, and founder of the Hunger Project. Her mother is a history and art history graduate of Hunter College and Wheaton College, respectively. She also holds a doctorate from New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts.
